About Nutrition Goods

A small publishing project covering one narrow subject: what the numbers on a food label actually mean, and how much of the marketing built on top of them survives a careful read.

Why this website exists

Food marketing runs on numbers — calories, grams of protein, percentages of something removed — and those numbers are rarely as simple as the packet makes them look. Some rest on real food science. Others rest on a definition doing quiet work in the background. Nutrition Goods exists to tell those apart: what a product is, what the figure on the label is measuring, and who is making the claim.

We are a consumer information website. We do not make, sell or ship any food product, we do not run a laboratory, and we are not dietitians. Nothing we publish is dietary or medical advice.

The product category we cover

Our coverage focuses on packaged food and food science — reduced-calorie baking, protein products, the ingredients doing the work behind a label claim, and how those claims are permitted to be written. WiO SmartFoods is the product featured on our homepage.

This is a category where attribution matters more than adjectives. When a figure comes from a manufacturer’s own label or its own review platform, we say so rather than presenting it as a finding. When a mechanism is genuinely well documented but the specific number attached to it is not independently verified, we separate the two on the page. And we do not claim a food will make anyone lose weight.

Our editorial approach

Claims we will not make

No invented statistics, no fabricated review counts, no countdown timers and no manufactured scarcity. Where a number comes from a brand, we attribute it to that brand on the same page it appears.

How we frame products

Featured products are described in terms of what they are, with the caveats attached. We use words like “may” and “varies” where those are the honest words, even when a stronger one would convert better.

Advertising, disclosed up front

Our homepage article is a paid advertorial and is labelled as one at the very top of the page, above the header, before any content. Nothing about that arrangement is buried in a footnote.

Corrections

If something we publish is inaccurate or has gone out of date, write to us and we will review it. Recipes, ingredient lists and pricing change often; we would rather fix a page than defend it.

Transparency about commercial relationships

Nutrition Goods is a commercially supported website. The homepage article is sponsored content, and the links to the featured product are affiliate links. If a reader goes on to use or purchase something after following one of those links, this website may receive compensation from the advertiser or its affiliate network.

That compensation does not add anything to the price a reader pays, and it does not buy a guarantee of positive coverage — the caveats above sit on the same page as the promotion. Full details are set out in our Advertising Disclaimer.

Who we write for

Our audience is general-interest: people who read labels, are not nutritionists, and want a straightforward explanation before ordering something new. Content is written in US English and reflects US consumer-privacy expectations, including the rights described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not provide medical, dietary, legal or financial advice of any kind, and nothing on this website should be treated as such. Always read the current ingredient list and allergen information on the packaging you receive — it takes precedence over anything written here. If you have a food allergy, coeliac disease, diabetes or any condition affecting your diet, speak to a qualified professional.
